The new DKNY Cruise Collection has been distinguished by a monochrome color scheme with the dark shades dominating in it, even though they are usually not typical of a cruise season.
A lot of designers deliberately choose bright neon, or very soft and light pastel colors in the new 2012 cruise season, but Donna Karan has selected black and saturated wine colors which are mixed with rare ensembles and prints. In some models, they subtly remind of the recognizable Pucci prints.
The cruise wardrobe has gained the basic silhouette of DKNY from the fall-winter 2011-12 collection: a hybrid of a coat and a cape, casually draped over the shoulders. As the basic model of an overcoat, this cape is linked to a variety of ensembles ranging from the tops embroidered with sequins to maxi dresses from the DKNY cruise wardrobe.
