International scientific community has heralded fish oil as “elixir of youth”. Researchers from California State University discovered Omega-3 acids in fish slow down the aging process.
Researchers found Omega-3 acids protect the membrane covering DNA from damage. Omega-3 acids prevent telomeres, tips of chromosomes, from shortening. The result is longer life span of cells and slower aging process.
So experts encourage eating more fish high in Omega-3 acids such as salmon, sardine, mackerel and trout. Omega-3 acids are also found in walnut, pumpkin seed, and soybeans. These are proved and tried longevity foods.
