Karl Lagerfeld & Doettling Turn out a King among Safes

Produced by such remarkable figureheads of luxury safe design as Karl Lagerfeld and Doettling, the latest to-be-marveled-at safe is also the most expensive one so far, going at the price of $339,000. The new safe is a bespoke affair of only 30 items available, and the fact that the designer grabbed the first one to stuff his personal valued collection of iPods and other devices in is fairly eloquent.

Although not prone by the water, the stronghold is called “Narcissus,” all stainless steel with a chrome-plated glossy aluminum coating, outward elegance concealing a sturdy body. A pillar six feet high, it is about one foot deep and is sure to slide easily into allotted space and stand there looking demure and dignified. Inside it holds cabinets containing watch winders and drawers for your priced possessions. Maybe not exactly a narcissus, it sounds like a whacking good safe!

Mini Golden Cell Phone in the Guise of a Powder Case

This tiny gadget looks as if it were a magic talisman to be found in a colorful quest. Shaped like a compact powder case, it is designed to imply ancient knowledge and luxury. Oddly enough, these two concepts don’t clash. The ancient treasure cell-phone weighs 40 grams and measures 75 x 60 x 20 mm. The biggest thing about it is its name – the C91 Dual Card Quad Band Super Mini Cell Phone Golden (2GB TF Card)(SZ05120046) . The price is somewhere in-between -$122.99.

Being Mini, the name tells us, it’s still Super – in terms of the features included. Among them are a media player, an eBook reader, FM radio, Bluetooth, a built-in camera, mobile Internet, and a choice of MP3 ringtones.

The display is a 2-inch 256K color; the Super Mini Golden is fitted with USB connectivity, a memory card slot, and a round keypad. A fairly long list of tools runs through World Time, Calendar, Calculator, Alarm Clock, Currency Converter, Voice Recorder, To Do List, to name but the most commonly used.

The included accessories are 2 batteries, stereo earphones, a USB cable. Made in China, it is designed to be used all over the world, and the user manual is in English.

A single charge provides 4 hours of talk time.

A New Luxury Gadget – iPod Supreme Rose Gold Edition

Liverpool-based jeweler Stuart Hughes has come up with another luxury gadget to cater for the rich and the stylish – iPod Supreme Rose Gold Limited Edition, only 10 handsets of which are available at the price of £59,995, about 95,000 in US dollars.

Created on the design of the Apple iPod Classic, it bears proudly the Apple logo laid out impressively from 53 VVS1 color-F diamonds.

iPod Supreme Rose Gold is made from 263 grams of 18ct solid rose gold. More VVS1 color-F diamonds of 3.4ct adorn the main navigation button whose body is made from platinum.

Nokia Created Its Most Expensive Handset from Platinum and Diamonds

Stuart Hughes, luxury jeweler, made another brilliant attempt to augment the Nokia Supreme collection of gadgets by creating the most expensive Nokia handset so far. It looks as if he used Nokia 8800 Arte as the playground for his jeweler’s imagination.

Adorned with a 3ct beauty of a diamond at the center and 1225 12.5ct pink diamonds around the perimeter no wonder it looks its worth. All the control buttons are diamond-decorated as well. The luxury gadget bears 83 grams of platinum in handmade veneers and screws.

Naturally the latest Nokia Supreme comes as a limited edition. There are only three handsets available to be ordered for £99,995 (160,312 in US dollars).
