Sisley Makeup Collection Baroque Chic Fall-Winter 2009-2010

Fall-Winter makeup collection by Sisley is called “Baroque Chic“. Sisley has given us truly luxurious products and genuine baroque colors: gold, sorbet, burgundy and plum. Almost every item in the collection is trendy.

Many Lipsticks Are Hazardous

After the long period of inactivity, FDA has finally tested lipsticks on the market for lead levels. The need for these tests has long been urged for by different social organizations, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC) in particular. It was this organization that found lead in 61% of 33 tested lipsticks in 2007, although lead was nowhere mentioned as the ingredient in those lipsticks.

FDA has published the report saying lead levels in lipsticks were four times higher than reported in a 2007 CSC study. However, FDA is not going to reveal the brand names that make unhealthy cosmetics, although the report said that three brands had especially high lead levels in their lipsticks. Also, FDA currently has no standards for the amount of lead allowed in lipsticks, making it difficult to control the manufacturing and selling of toxic cosmetics.

Despite some cosmetics manufacturers claiming that no lipstick can be made without lead, lead-free products are already appearing on the market. Some brands even offer swapping unhealthy lipsticks for new ones, without lead in them.

Winter Makeup Collection End of Year Event by YSL

The fall has just arrived, but we are already having a sneak peek of a new winter makeup collection by Yves Saint Laurent. The collection is called End of Year Event and will be available in October. We will be treated to red and purple as prevailing colors, the same luxurious textures and jewelry-like packaging.

Winter collection is, of course, a palette of Christmas and New Year holidays. And after black and a bit heavy colors from fall makeup collections (almost every big brand offered black color in its fall makeup line), we are having bright and rich colors, very light and positive.

The collection is centered around two palettes in golden and silver compacts. Golden compact contains two lip glosses and the silver one has eyeshadows in two colors.

Lip glosses are in red and purple, the main colors of the collection.

Lipstick comes in four rich colors, two Brilliant glosses and Golden Gloss in two colors (red and purple as you might have guessed).

Nail polishes in red and purple finish the collection. And peach face powder adds freshness and shine to the whole makeup.
