think i would throw in wolf and goat into boat… take cabbage under my arm and push off …u didn’t say u couldn’t touch boat so i would hold on to boat and float across with boat.

My husband and I worked on this the other day and think we have the right answer. I came back today to find out whether we did, or not, and I can’t find the answer. Since I’m brand new to the site, I think there may be something I don’t understand. All I can see for the answer is the answer to a previous riddle, “the hole.” Can someone please direct me to the answer? Are correct answers posted every day? Thank you.

Your first trip must be with the goat, since it’s safe to leave the wolf and cabbage unattended.
Your return trip is alone, and then you can take either wolf or cabbage across, trade for the goat, return, trade goat for remaining item, cross over, drop off, now wolf and cabbage are together on the other side. Return to the start, pick up the goat, and cross over once more to complete the journey. And keep your eyes open for that goat!

No brainer. Which two can be left behind without one being eaten by the other. The remaining one is your first passenger to the far side. Return and take across the one that will eat the one you just delivered to the far side. Return this time bringing back the first passenger. Leave the first passenger and take the last passenger across to the other side. Bring back the second passenger then take the first passenger across. Return by yourself and take the last passenger to the far side. Then you let the goat eat the cabbage, finally you and the wolf finish off the goatand you part ways aimiably knowing that the wolf won’t eat you for a day or so. A safer way would have been to do this all on the first side of the river so that when you parted ways you could row across the river and be rid of the wolf.

You take the goat to the other side. Then you go back and get the cabbage. You bring the goat back, and you leave the cabbage. Then you get the wolf and you leave the goat. You take the wolf to the other side and leave the wolf there with the cabbage from the previous trip. Now you go back to the original side and get the goat to take it to the other side.

get in the boat with the goat, bring it to the opposite shore. come back, bring the wolf this time. when you get to the other shore, let the wolf out and bring the goat on and take it back to the begining. let the goat off, and then take the cabbage and bring it back to the opposite shore with the wolf. sail back and get the goat again.

You take the goat across and drop him off, go back and take cabbage across and drop off and pick up goat, drop goat off and pick up wolf and drop him off then go back for goat and take him across.
