Peaches Geldof Fired From Miss Ultimo

Peaches Geldof is no longer Miss Ultimo‘s “face and body”. It’s probably the first time when her controversial ways weren’t to her advantage.  The brand’s executives decided to terminate her contract following her recent drug controversy.

A series of obscene snaps appeared on the internet featuring topless Geldof jumping on the bed and wearing blood-stained plaster over part of her leg. Geldof’s boyfriend, an American artist Ben Mills, said they took heroine together and that it was brought by Miss Geldof to L.A.

Peaches had drug problems in the past.  In July 2008, she even had an overdose.

Despite past controversies, Miss Ultimo approached the young lady with a roughly $150 000-a-year modelling contract. Everything’s been going smoothly until Peaches’ last escapade.

Miss Ultimo’s executives called an emergency meeting the moment they saw the sordid photos of their model. The brand’s bosses were in discussion whether the 21-year-old junkie could remain the face of the brand or not. The decision was obvious.

‘We are in the process of removing Peaches from the website and we are working with Debenhams to remove her visuals form all Miss Ultimo shops and window displays throughout the UK’.

The brand‘s representatives commented:

‘Miss Ultimo is a brand geared towards a young female audience and as a company we have a social responsibility to ensure we are promoting only positive role models that young women can aspire to’.

Geldof’s friends say she is very disappointed. This was the most successful contract for her to date. Actually, the scandal broke out days before the launch of her advertising campaign.  It was fully shot and Peaches couldn’t wait to see it released.
