Actor David Boreanaz, 40, and Jaime Bergman, 34, husband and wife for close to nine years, still remember the glorious time they had and striving to get back to their past beautiful relations. “When we got married we had an unbelievable foundation that we’ve never forgotten,” says the Buffy and the Vampire Slayer star. “But it’s been damaged.”
The damage proved to be so bad that last year the couple had to resort to therapy in the attempt to resolve their issues.
When it came out that Boreanaz had been unfaithful to her, Bergman was hurt and angry, and still is. “I’m not saying everything’s okay,” shares Bergman.
Nevertheless, she is willing to mend what can be mended. “It took a crisis, it took infidelity to get us off our asses and work for what we want,” she comments. “We do the best we can. That’s all we can do.”
On his part, Boreanaz takes full responsibility for adultery and also wants to patch their marriage up. With the secrets out, what is left for them is to move toward each other slowly and painstakingly. “What’s working for us [is] taking our time,” as Bergman puts it. But they are sure it is worth it.
Boreanaz and Bergman have two children – Jaden, 8 years old, and Bella, 8 months old.
