The Boy Does Nothing Lyrics – Alesha Dixon

As you probably know there was a performance of Alesha Dixon at Miss World 2008 Festival. She sang her song “The Boy Does Nothing”, which was released on November, 10, 2008 in the UK. It was very nice, very “lively”. Those who like pop music will enjoy this song for sure. Here’s the official music video. Full story

If U Seek Amy Lyrics – Britney Spears

Here’s a new Britney Spears’ song “If U Seek Amy” from her latest album “Circus” released on November 28, 2008. Although it’s a usual pop song, nothing special (the song words were written by Britney Spears), but it seems to me, this song is going to be a hit. So many people like it so much already. By the way, the official music video is already available.   Full story

Rihanna – Disturbia

Disturbia by Rihanna is another song which I never turn off when it’s on the radio, no matter how many times they play it. By the way, this song received a nomination for "Best Dance Recording" for the 51st Grammy Awards. Do you think it’s really the best dance recording? Full story

Lady Gaga – Just Dance

Here’s another song that is quite popular now on the radio – “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga. You can find lots of remixes of this song on YouTube, but since I’m a kind of conservative, I like the original most, as usual. This song requires good speakers. Turn on and just dance! Full story

Ne-Yo – Closer

“I just can’t stop, I just can’t stop, I just can’t stop…” – yesterday I heard this song on the radio and, you know, it just stuck in my head. I was singing it the rest of the day. Today I woke up and – what do you think? – I caught myself singing it. After, when I got in the car and turned on the radio, guess what song was there? Again the same one. The artist is Ne-Yo, and the song’s called “Closer”. I decided to post it on Geniusbeauty.com. Hope, this will help me get rid of this paranoid singing to myself. By the way, I like the song. Do you? Los Lobos – La Bamba

Finally I found a Latin dance class in my neighborhood. I just love Merengue, Cha cha cha, Rumba etc. And after only an hour of latin dancing I feel so happy, that I smile all day long. Dancing has a great anti-stress effect. You express yourself, you learn something new, you enjoy everything in it – the movements, the music, the atmosphere… So, you don’t need to guess what kind of song I’m going to share today. Of course, it relates to Latin dance. It’s the song you all know – “La Bamba” – a Mexican folk song. I like the way Los Lobos sing it. They make me dance :) Full story

Michael Jackson – Billie Jean

If you feel depressed listen to Michael Jackson’s songs! They are so optimistic and energizing – they are the best antidepressants. They make you want to dance. One of the songs I love is “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson. I really like the way he dances when performing this song, you can see it in related videos of his concerts. And in this one the ... Elton John – Please

One of my favorite singers is Elton John (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight). I know many of his songs and I really like most of them. It took some time for me to choose one song I like best for this post, as Elton John composed many beautiful songs, such as “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” that he sang in duet with George Michael, “Candle in the Wind” which he dedicated to the memory of Princess Diana or “Your Song” which was later sung by Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman in “Moulin Rouge” movie. Everybody knows these songs. So, I decided to choose the one that is probably not so popular – “Please”. It’s so optimistic, it’s amazing! Well, who knows, maybe, you already know it very well. Anyway, I always enjoy listening to it and hope, you will do, too.   Full story

Julio Iglesias & Dolly Parton – When You Tell Me That You Love Me

“When you tell me that you love me” is not a new song, but who said only new ones are good? It was initially released by Diana Ross in 1991, but many artists sang the song too. One of them is Julio Iglesias. And I find the way he sings it in a duet with Dolly Parton very beautiful. This is one of the songs I can listen to again and again and always sing along to. Sorry, several first seconds of the music video were lost. Unfortunately, I can share only this video. You can still enjoy it.   Full story

Playing For Change – Stand by Me

This is one of the “songs around the world” from the documentary “Playing For Change: Peace Through Music”. As you see from the video, different musicians from around the world contributed to this song by singing their parts. "Stand by Me" and other songs will be released early next year. Just watch and enjoy. Great idea, great song, great video! Incredible, I think.... Full story

Cesária Évora – Pic Nic Na Salamansa

Cesária Évora is a Cape Verdean singer who has become popular around the world. She always performs without shoes and this is why she got the nickname “barefooted diva”. Her music is very light, so pleasant to listen to. I wish I could understand what Cesária sings about. But the lyrics can be perceived as music, too, this is because the language itself is so ... Vittorio Grigolo – il Mio Miracolo

I stumbled on this music video on TV and fell in love with the song so to say “at first note”. “Tu il Mio Miracolo” means “you are my miracle”. Vittorio Grigolo has such a tender voice, I can’t think of any other tenor to sing this song as beautifully. Maybe, only Andrea Bocelli. The song is so passionate. Well, I don’t want to say anything else now, I better click “play”. Full story

Notre Dame de Paris Musical

Notre Dame de Paris is my favorite musical. I saw the show only once (and was greatly impressed), but I listened to the record lots of times. It is a French-Canadian musical and it has already been played in many countries. The plot resembles the initial “Notre Dame de Paris” by Victor Hugo a lot. It’s a great musical and it consists of so many beautiful songs, that it was really difficult for me to choose the parts I like most, as the whole musical is perfect. Finally, I decided to share 6 songs that I just love. You can always find the rest in related songs – they shared the whole musical on YouTube. Enjoy! Phœbus and Fleur-de-Lys     Full story

Helloween – Windmill

Yes, I wrote it correctly, because the band is named “Helloween”, not "Halloween". And they chose this very name not because they are Germans and can’t speak English – they simply wanted the name to sound as sinister as possible. The song’s called “Windmill”, it was released in 1993. I remember listening to Helloween’s albums as a kid, I liked their “power metal” music, but now the only motive I remember well is “Wingmill”. And this is probably their best song. Helloween still exists, last year they released another album. But I don’t follow their creative work, I just sometimes enjoy the song “Windmill”. Full story

Richard Sanderson – Dreams

Every couple has a song or songs which they call “our song”. It is music that was playing when something particular was happening in their life, like their first dance or date. For us, my husband and me, such “our song” is “Dreams” by Richard Sanderson. Every time I listen to this song I feel something special, I come back to the day when I realized I love him. I’m sure, you all know this song. It is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Full story

Laith Al-Deen – Labyrinth

German is my favorite language. It sounds so beautiful. I remember studying it by listening to German songs, noting new words and phrases and leaning the lyrics by heart (including other methods of learning a foreign language, of course). Laith Al-Deen’s album was one of the “materials” that helped me in mastering the language. Well, it was anyway always fun for me. I really love the language. And some songs of Laith Al-Deen, too. Here’s one of the songs I like – “Labyrinth”. Full story

Stas Piekha – O Tebe

I love music and it doesn’t matter for me what language the song is in. Here’s a very beautiful Russian song. The artist is Stas Piekha, a famous Russian singer, the grandson of the popular Russian actress and singer Edita Piekha. The song’s called “O Tebe” (“About You”). It is romantic and very touching.... Christina Aguilera and Luis Fonsi – Si No Te Hubiera Conocido

Monday is supposed to be the hardest day of the week for many, so after this day everyone is especially stressed and needs something that could help relax. For me music has always been such a stress reliever. In particular, “Si No Te Hubiera Conocido”, the Spanish ballad performed by Christina Aguilera and Luis Fonsi “works” great. This is the song from the first Christina’s Spanish-language album “Mi Reflejo”. This song was composed by Rudy Perez, a genius person who produced and composed for Julio Iglesias, Michael Bolton, Marc Anthony and other stars. Luis Fonsi is singer, composer and soap opera actor from Puerto Rico. Christina Aguilera is well-known – she has a great soprano, although she sometimes screams instead of singing – well, let’s think, it’s just because of really strong emotions – she takes to heart everything she sings about. Together they are a perfect duet. Enjoy the song. Full story

Kurt Nilsen – Silence

I have a great respect to people who can sing live as well as at the studio albums. Norwegian singer Kurt Nilsen is one of such singers. Kurt plays his guitar in an interesting way – with the strings upside down (he is left-handed). A former plumber, Kurt has “the voice of an angel, but looks like a Hobbit”, as he was once called. He doesn’t care about his appearance – he seems to be above all this. Great voice anyway, very beautiful music! Full story

Ronan Keating – When You Say Nothing at All

“When You Say Nothing at All” - do you remember this song? It was written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz and sung by three artists who took it to the top of three different charts: Keith Whitley, Alison Krauss and Ronan Keating. The song is simply great! I love it! As for me, I like the version of Ronan Keating most (maybe, because I heard his version first). He is an Irish singer, the one of the Boyzone. This beautiful song was his first solo single – it was recorded as the soundtrack of the romantic comedy Notting Hill. I can listen to “When You Say Nothing at All” again and again - and always with a great pleasure. Full story
