Today I decided to add some more beautiful pictures to the “Beautiful Places” category. And this time it’s going to be amazing photos of roads. Yes, I really mean it, because even roads can be beautiful. These are absolutely different roads: roads in forests, asphalt roads, railroads. But each picture has its own character, its own beauty. Enjoy beautiful pictures of roads!

One of these pictures looks exactly like the place in South Carolina where I go to pickup fish tank aquariums that we sell on our web site. It is very cool there. Nice pictures!
Too bad the pics are so small. A number of them would have made great desktop pictures.

The fact that I won’t be able to see all those places in my lifetime is such a sad one. I don’t think I will ever have the money to travel around the world as I wish.

The roads draw the eye, and more importantly, allow us to see ourselves travelling there.

Road #5th appeared in one of Top Gear’s episodes. They looked for the best road ever and I think it was somewhere in Italy or in Switzerland. Can’t tell, search the net for Top Gear’s quest for the best road

Stunning photography, I noticed one picture I loved particularly. The one taken on the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures.
They are just magnificent! some I think have been a little bit photo-shopped, others not – it is difficult to say because in the evening-light colours can get very intense with a strong magenta-touch anyway.

I would really like to know where these wonderful pictures were taken, especially the switchback mountain road.
#5, the mountain switchbacks pic, looks exactly like a road in switzerland that crosses over the alps. I went over it while I was there once, its a heck of a crazy road to drive, but lots of fun and the view from the top is absolutely amazing. Beautiful pic’s, thanks for sharing them!

I love road pictures!
Roads are part of our life and go ever onward to where we will never know till we follow. These I would love to see in book, ever thought of putting one together.
These are stunning!!! I have taken many a road photo myself, all roads lead to somewhere, being a country girl….that has always been an interest of mine. Traveling those roads.
I have traveled long and far….perhaps even over some of these same roads.

Cool! I just “stumbled” onto this site today and these are so cool. The 7th photo (just as a matter of interest) is of a bridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway, I live like 15 minutes from there and it is truly beautiful!
Pic #1 is a Dharma Road. Any chance of purchasing a much larger print of #1 from it’s photographer?

The multiple switchbacks I believe is a road in Italy that was featured on Top Gear. They referred to it as “asphalt spaghetti”.

These bridges look fantastic and mystical, but they do exist. And the landscapes and professionalism of photographers make them look magical. All these are real photos. I wish I knew where they were taken.
In many photos taken during heavy traffic in highways and roads , white lines are visible even though no vehicles were seen . How it is possible?

i was very sad and tried to search the net for some beautiful pictures, maybe to try lift my spirits up… these are really great photos, and i had mixed emotions looking at them. at first it made me smile, then the more i looked at it i felt sad. almost to the point of tears… i suddenly realized how big the world is and that i am only confined to such a small part of it. i know i wont have the chance to see these places in this lifetime, so i thank you very much for showing me know that they exist…

I’m not absolutely sure, but I think #5 could be Stelvio Pass. Located at the border of italy and switzerland. The road looks familiar, but the vegetation looks a bit strange, because the highest point of this road is just under 3000m and there are not that much plants or trees.
Need to look for old tour pictures.

like the beautiful aumtumm land scape and the red road after rain the all look kissing.
You can see these roads all around you. The photos are beautiful, but it’s all about the roads.
